When she looked back at her writings from all those years ago, it was plain to see the pain, the anguish, and the hurt. She didn’t know it at the time but what she was writing said it all for everyone to see. She thought she was writing in the third person. She always had to remind people that the ‘I’ in a poem didn’t need to be autobiographical.
