Cycle tour of four of Glasgow’s pools (where I swim) and a couple of cultural stops on the way.
Bella’s vela (Bellahouston’s velodrome)
The Waverly and the Science Centre
The Science Centre tower
Riverside Museum (we still call it The Transport Museum)
And look who I met!
Punctured on the way home (when the rain came, then the sleet). But it was still a great day.
My January cycle challenge is to cycle 500 mile.
There was a change of plans so I managed a wee cycle.
The weather was dry. It was a dry day! The average temperature was 0.7° C. Oh, it was just so good to be out on the bike in the cold all wrapped up, snug. Two hours in it was my feet that felt the cold. I cycled a couple of short loops in Cumbernauld then headed over past the Rugby Club and did two loops of the A80. On what would have been my third lap I kept going past Huggy loch, turned right (I still expect to see the iconic Red Road flats), right again then wangled past the big supermarket out on to the country road past the Wallace Monument, then headed home.
What a great way to start the year.
It is all worth it.
Looking at this photo brings back a great memory from the day. John had been out running (I think), he popped in the say he was going for a swim in the rain. When he left I continued working on the computer but the thought of him swimming in the rain niggled at me. So I put on my trunks and climbed into my wellies and headed round to the pool. I took some photographs then joined him swimming in the rain – magic.
It is Monday morning!
A cycle from another Monday.
